About Us

My name is Victoria Irambona. I am the Visionary and “ Co-Founder” along with Mrs Izera Mazambo Joy”who resides in Australia Association. We are a nonprofit organization based in the USA and many other nations.

One of the known problems we face today as Burundians is the attack on our youth and young generation. Every week we are hearing of a niece, nephew, son, daughter etc. getting into some sort of trouble with their parent pleading to the community for help. These issue that they are facing are in direct relation to the lack of knowledge in the Burundian culture and traditions. For the better future of our next generation, we must act in addressing this raising concern. We have set an action plan that shall be a steppingstone in resolving this matter statewide. However, I cannot tackle this issue myself, that is why I am coming forward on behalf of the organization to ask that you stand with us to work to save our youth.

About Us

We are Burundian women integrated locally, nationally, and globally from Burundi country located in the Central-East Africa. We are the women who are burdened by the issues our youths and young generation are facing in the transition of immigrating while keeping their motherland heritage. Our Vision

Providing Burundian people with access to the tools and resources needed to be better parents and avoid negative influences around them. Through education and empowerment in our communities, IBWO will redirect and protect youth from jail, deportation, foster care and death. Using community and mentorship IBWO will teach Burundian youth about their rich cultural heritage and traditions, giving them a feeling of support and belonging.

Our Mission

The primary mission of the IBWO will be to educate parents and youth in the communities on how to transition into living in their new environment while embracing their heritage. Using established members of the community to share in their positive experience and how they avoided negative ones. They will provide mentorship for youth and young parents and lead by example. By working with community health care professionals IBWO will be able to provide Burundian people with access to the tools and resources needed to be better parents and avoid negative influences around them. Through education and community IBWO will redirect and protect youth from jail, deportation, foster care and death. Using community and mentorship IBWO will teach Burundian youth about their rich cultural heritage and traditions, giving them a feeling of support and belonging.

Our Values

The IBWO values are based on the ideals that all Burundians should have access to and receive adequate education, care and opportunity. They should all be able to learn, understand and embrace their cultural heritage. They should be provided with the support and understanding required to adapt to a new culture, avoid immoral actions and withstand peer pressure and external influences such as alcohol and drug consumption that will inevitably lead them down to the wrong path.
